Color Inspirations Challenge!

Hello crafty friends:

Here is my project for Peachy Keen Challenge #44.  This challenge consists in creating a project using the Autumn Color Palette below.

I created this card using a layer punch fall leaf that I found at TJ Maxx.  I liked something different than Cricut.  I used PK-293 The Cornies Assortment for the face leaf.  I hope you like it!

PKC: Anything Goes!

Hello crafty friends:

My project today is treat container filled with Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark Chocolate.  I'm in love with this chocolate is so delicious.

Here are the details.  I used Doodlecharms Cartridge to cut Santa at 2.5" and CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut the snowflake at 1.25".  I put some glitter on the white part of the hat.  I used the Gypsy to hide the face mark; instead I stamped the face with the PKS called Snowmany Face Assortment.  I hope you enjoy this project.  But I didn't wait till Dec 25th to open this sweet temptation, lol.

Banana Bread Recipe!

Hello crafty friends:

Today, I want to share with you Banana Bread.  I bake this in my new ovenware Temp-tations dish.  My dad gift to me, and I would like to surprise him.  It simple and delicious.  I hope you like it!

Banana Bread

  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 overripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped
  • Confectioners' sugar, for dusting
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a 9 by 5-inch loaf pan.

Mash 2 of the bananas with a fork in a small bowl so they still have a bit of texture. With an electric mixer fitted with a wire whisk, whip the remaining bananas and sugar together for a good 3 minutes; you want a light and fluffy banana cream. Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla; beat well and scrape down the sides of the bowl. Mix in the cake flours just until incorporated; no need to overly blend. Fold in the nuts and the mashed bananas with a rubber spatula. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

Bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.  Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes or so, and then dust with confectioners' sugar, and serve.

Thanks for stopping by and happy baking!
